Dear parents,
These past 7 years at West Seattle Christian Preschool have been a great benefit and blessing to many families in the West Seattle community, including your own.  I have personally enjoyed the time that I’ve been able to spend with your children, both as a director and as a teacher when the opportunity arose.  We have been able to celebrate significant changes in the lives of your children as well as the staff that has loved and served them over the years.  As these changes have taken place
here at WSCP, changes have also been taking place in the greater West Seattle community in the form of numerous additional preschool options.  While greater choice for the community might be seen as a positive, the reality is that this has adversely affected our enrollment, particularly during these past two years.  This in turn has made it extremely difficult to provide the level of program that we are committed to and that we have been known for. Looking ahead, we do not see an end to this trend. Ultimately, after more than a year of prayer and discovery for the leadership of West Seattle Christian Church, the decision has been made that this will be our final year as West Seattle Christian Preschool.  This will not impact our commitment to quality these final 6 months.   We will complete our program in full through this current school year, but we will not be continuing beyond this coming June.   I wanted you to have this information in a timely manner so that you can take advantage of the upcoming area open houses and preschool fairs as you look ahead towards next year.  The first opportunity for you to do that is at the West Seattle Preschool Fair, Monday evening January 14th from 5:30 – 7:30pm at St John the Baptist Episcopal Church presented by the West Seattle Preschool  Association. Even as growth and excitement continue for our church, the economic realities of providing the best possible program and one which we could continue to be proud of have brought us to the end of this chapter in our history.  I want to personally thank you for your part in the successes of WSCP and I look forward to finishing strong with you, preparing your children for their future.  If you have any questions about this or anything else, please don’t hesitate to either call me @ 206-932-2098 x103 or email me @ Joanne@westseattlechristian.com.
